STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled and have attended University courses in the last 12 months inclusive of having completed at least two years of undergraduate studies or have recently graduated in the last 6 months’
Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme (for example, Bachelor’s degree) from a recognised university and have completed at least two years of the programme. Candidates should have attended classes in the past 12 months;
Be currently enrolled in a graduate programme (for example, Master degree) from a recognised university and have attended classes in the past 12 months;
Be a recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) from a recognised university and have attended classes in the last 12 months of enrolment in the university.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point);
Fluent in English
The World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking to fill an internship position under the WFP [[Government Partnerships ]] of the [[Egypt Country Office]]. The position will be based in Cairo. The Internship will be for an initial period of [[6 months]] months starting from [[January 2020]].
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Research, documentation and knowledge management:
The intern will give support to research and knowledge management activities on various issues related to South-South and triangular cooperation in African countries.
Assist the Country Director in preparation for South-South plan, including prepare reports, minute meetings, speeches, and presentations.
Support the development of information management, communication and advocacy materials on South-South Cooperation.
Support for South-South Cooperation events organizations:
South-South and Triangular Cooperation workshop.
South-South and other conferences.
- Provide support to the team as required.
Demonstrate commitment to the UN’s core values;
Interest and motivation in working in an international organization;
Good analytical skills in gathering and consolidating data and research for practical implementation;
Outgoing and initiative-taking person with a goal-oriented mindset;
Communicate effectively when working in teams and independently;
Good in organizing and structuring various tasks and responsibilities;
Display cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability;
Respond positively to feedback and differing points of view;

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$1000 per month depending on the duty station of assignment.
WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
Depending on the duty station of assignment, WFP will reimburse travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country.
WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education;
